About the Artist
David is a person of detail.
He takes the broad strokes—the concept, the subject, and the microcosm of stories—then dives into the nitty gritty.
He has a penchant for making you look closer at his artworks to find more than meets the eye.
His comic-style drawings of superheroes, fantasy creatures, and terrifying monsters, whether on digital or traditional canvas, all feature elaborate pencil hatching and heavy inking - some creative marks he's known for.
A journey of learning
David graduated with a bachelor's degree in Multimedia Arts from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in 2022.
He is a founding member of DrawINK, Benilde's premiere comic book student organization, and was first appointed Art Head. He later on became the team's Vice President of Internal Affairs.
David also held his first workshop at Benilde, teaching comic book figure drawing. Since then, he has taught three more workshops - one at St. Scholastica's College Manila, another at Lyceum of the Philippines University Manila, and a return to his alma mater to teach comics for kids, in conjunction with Benilde's Center for Social Action.
An artistic footprint
David attends numerous art conventions as an exhibitor, namely Komiket, where he reaches his audience of comic book & video game fans and collaborates with a community of fellow artists.
He is currently a freelance illustrator, open to opportunities from both local and international clients. He positions his work in the realms of pop culture and the macabre, two areas where his art style shines.
Apart from drawing, David has also explored cosplay, creative writing, voice acting, oil & watercolor painting, and photography. He uses his secondary skills to expand his vision in illustration.
